Hello World!

May 2, 2011

I’m staring at my monitor. Little sprites of programmer art are moving and rotating on the screen in front of me, confirming that my code is doing what it should be doing. It’s a good feeling.

I fondly remember laying eyes on Wolfenstein 3D for the first time. That would’ve been around 1992 and I was only ten years old. Doom came quickly after that and my love for PC games was cemented. I was hooked. I wanted to play them – and even more – I wanted to make them.

Seventeen years later, I am programming for a living, but it’s not in the game industry. I write business applications for a living. It pays the bills and I work with smart people but business applications don’t inspire passion like games do.

Over the years I’ve made a handful of unfinished games and demos, but nothing complete or worth showing off. Now I’m working on something special. Something worth showing off. This blog will detail that journey.
